66th Independence Day celebrated in Bhatkal

Bhatkal - 15 August 2012: Bhatkal celebrated 66th Independence Day with colourful celebrations across the town. All Schools, Colleges, Govt offices and Non Government Organizations hoisted the national flag and remembered the martyrs and freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the Independence struggle.

The major function was held at police ground wherein Bhatkal Assistant Commissioner, Mr Ashok Naik hoisted the tricolor and addressed the gathering. Later students from different schools took part in a grand parade under the leadership of PSI Mr Prameshwar Devadiga.

On this occasion TMC President Mr Inayatullah Shabandri, Municipal Chief Ms Anupama, Bhatkal DySP Mr M Narayan, TP President Mr Pashornath Jain, CPI Mr Shiv Prakash Naik, BEO Mr Devidas Moger, Executive Officer Mr Chinnappa, Forest Dept Officials and others were present.
