64th Republic Day celebrated in Bhatkal

republic-1 Bhatkal : Colorful performance by students and R-Day parade marked the 64th Republic Day celebrations in Bhatkal. Tri-color was hoisted at all Government and several non-Govt office including Police Ground, Anjuman Islamia Anglo School, Shams High School, Tanzeem, Jamia Islamia, Municipality, and all Schools and Colleges. The main event was held at Police Ground, where Assistant Commissioner Mr V R P Manohar hoisted the tri-color at 9:00 am and inspected the guard of honour. Addressing the gathering, Mr Manohar exchanged R-Day greetings and shed light on this historic day. He congratulated Bhatkal students for achieving academic as well as sports honor at different levels. Bhatkal MLA Mr J.D. Naik in his speech appealed people to spread peace and communal harmony in the country. On this occasion several important personalities of Bhatkal have been felicitated for their work in different fields. Moulana Abdul Aleem Kasimi, Editor Naqsh-e-Nawayat for his contribution to media and Mr Abdul Raheem Jukaku, General Secretary AHM for his contribution to Anjuman in the field of education were among the others who have been felicitated. Later Prizes were distributed among students who came with flying colors at different sports competitions and those who had participated in the parade. Anjuman’s NCC cadets won the first position and Bhatkal Police got second position in the senior category while New English and Shams English Medium School shared first and second position respectively in junior category. Later school children showcased their amazing talent and depicted Indian culture and traditions with their vibrant performances. On this occasion MLA Mr J D Naik, AC Mr V P Manohar, DySP Mr Sudhir Reddy, Tahsildar Dr Madhukeshwar, TMC President Mr Inayatullah Shabandri, Bhatkal BEO Mr Devidas Moger, TP Executive Officer Mr Chinnappa Moily and several others were present.
