6 cattle transporting vehicles seized, 13 arrested in Bhatkal

Bhatkal - 31 Oct 2011: Bhatkal police team led by DySP Mr M Narayan seized 6 vehicles involved in transporting cattle from Maharashtra and arrested 13 people after conducting raids at several check points in Bhatkal. According to the sources, 13 people have been arrested and cattle worth Rs 4 lakh seized. The arrested persons have been identified as Shirali's Harish Bangarappa, Nagappa Narayan, Zabeehullah Maqbool Hittalmane, Ibarhim from Sagar, Shivanand from Hubli, Bhatkal's Abdul Basith Lanka, Mohammed Ansar Khalas Ahmed, Mumbai's Anil Govardhan, Syed Rustam, Sameer Abdul Gaffar, Abdul Kareem Mohammed and Asif Khwaja Shaikh.

All accused have been presented before Honnavar court. Different cases have been registered at Bhatkal town police station in connection with this.
