517 persons from minority community given micro-credit of Rs 25k

Bhatkal: In a bid to provide aid to men and women from minority community to venture into small businesses, Karnataka Minority Welfare Corporation today distributed micro-credit of Rs 25,000.
In all Rs 1,80,60,000 was distributed to 517 persons from the minority community that included 364 Muslims, 128 Christians and 25 persons from the Jain community.
On this occasion, the corporation's MD Mr. Saleem said that INR 25,000 is granted to each person as a micro-credit that can be invested in small businesses from which he needs to pay back Rs 20,000 and the balance Rs 5,000 is granted as a subsidy.
