50.74% voter's turnout recorded in Muncipal Election in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 30 May 2019:(Bhatkallys News Bureau) As the Bhatkal Town Municipality Council’s election went peacefully on Wednesday, an estimated 50.74% voting turnout has been recorded. Among 23 wards of the town, 12 people who submitted their nomination were unanimously elected. while the election for candidates of remaining 11 wards were conducted. There are 11,226 voters in 11 wards, among which a total of 5,696 voters cast their vote. Ward no.23 recorded highest voters turnout with 68.13% , while ward no.18 recorded the lowest voter turnout i.e. 29.10%. Election officer N B Patel speaking to the media said that, the counting of votes will be held on 31st May.
