Bhatkal, Apr 19: Brahmananda Saraswati Swamiji of Ujire Shree Rama Kshethra in the district of Dakshina Kannada said that 50 swamijis including him will contest in the next assembly elections in order to cleanse political arena and also prevent misuse of taxpayers’ money.
Giving his blessings at the Punarpratista celebration of Shirali Halekote Hanumantha temple, Swamiji said, “For us, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath are the inspirations. We do not want salary from the government. Only if they give ration, it is more than enough. We will not ask DA for touring our constituencies. We never want pension.
“Money from the general public received in the form of tax is unnecessarily spent by politicians. We will not contest from any party. For us Bhagavad Gita is the emblem,” he said.
