50 injured in bus-truck collision at Gorte Cross, Bhatkal

25 Aug 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: More than 50 people travelling on a bus were injured when the bus lost its control and smashed into a truck travelling in front of it. The accident occurred Sunday evening near Gorte Cross on Bhatkal National Highway. According to sources, more than 50 people from Syndicate Bank were travelling from Murudeshwar to Manipal after visiting Murudeshwar beach when the bus trying to give way to a vehicle coming from the opposite direction hit a truck travelling in front of it. As a consequence more than 50 persons travelling on it suffered injuries. The injured were taken to Bhatkal Government Hospital and the critically injured ones were sent to Manipal. This case was registered at Shirur Police Station.
