5- day media workshop begins in Bhatkal with a formal inaugural ceremony

Bhatkal 13 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) The five days media workshop organised by Bhatkal's Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem and coordinated by Madhyama Kendra Mangalore, kicked off on Saturday at the Tanzeem's office after a formal inaugural ceremony in the presence of both the Qazis of Bhatkal along with officials of Majlis-e-Islah wa Tanzeem.
During the inaugural ceremony, Tanzeem General Secretary Altaf Kharuri, thanked Media watch committee convener Aftab Hussain Kola, his deputy Inayatullah Gawai and officials of Madhyama Kendra Mangalore for organising such an workshop that will lay a platform for the aspirant journalist to understand the importance and process of being professionals.
Speaking of the action plan and follow up of the workshop, Aftab Kola in his address added "We are in the process of making an action plan for those seriously interested students who want to pursue journalism. Inshallah we will screen such students, guide them, help them with scholarships, etc".
Kannada daily Vartha Bharti's Chief Editor Abdus Salam Puttuge, addressed the participants about the aims and objectives of organising the workshop.

While Moulana Khaja Akrami, Qazi Khalifa Jamat-ul-Muslimeen also spoke about the importance of media and journalism for the community, and the role it plays in building opinions of the people about a particular community/individual.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with the supplications of Moulana Iqbal Mulla, Qazi Jamatul Muslimeen Bhatkal, followed by the beginning of five day workshop for over 50 registered students.
On Day 1, three sessions were organised which included 'Introduction of Journalism', 'Freelance Journalism as a career' and 'Language Journalism'.
