2.5 kg gold seized at M'lore airport

The officers of Customs at Mangalore International Airport have seized gold weighing 2.50 kg valued about Rs 80.50 lakh, concealed in the check-in baggage of a passenger.
According to a press release, the seized gold is of 24 karat purity. The arrested is Basheer Pally Ebrahim, a resident of Ayyangeri in Bhagamandala. He arrived in Mangalore from Dubai on Friday.
The passenger has been arrested and produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate.
