20 nomination papers rejected in Uttara Kannada

Bhatkal - As the last date for filing nomination papers for upcoming Zilla Panchayat and Taluka Panchyath Elections in Uttara Kannada district expired yesterday, total of 515 candidates have filed their nomination papers for ZP while 913 have filed their nominations for TP elections. Out of which 9 ZP and 11 TP candidate's nomination papers have been rejected, sources said. According to the sources, from Bhatkal 31 nomination papers have been approved and all other got rejected. So now 255 ZP and 615 TP candidates are in the fray for the panchayat elections which is scheduled to be held on 31st Dec 2010 in the district.
