2 youths from Sirsi drown in Kasarkod beach

16th August 2015 | Correspodent | Bhatkallys News Honnavar: Two youths from Sirsi met with ill-fate, when they were washed away by huge tidal-waves in Echo beach, Kasarkod, that falls under Honnavar taluka limits on Sunday. They were identified as Nazeer Ahmed (18) and his younger brother Israr Ahmed (16). They were part of a 12-member group that reached Echo beach Sunday afternoon. Israr Ahmed reportedly stepped into the sea to enjoy the waves but lofty tidal-waves washed him away into the sea. In a bid to rescue him, his elder brother Nazeer too jumped into the sea but himself became a victim and he too was washed away into the sea. A case has been reported at Honnavar police station and search is on for their bodies. - ARF
