2 fake currency pushers caught in Bangalore

The Kalasipalyam Police arrested two men who were trying to push fake currency notes in the area. The arrested have been identified as Srinivas, 34, a resident of Tyagarajnagar. Based on the clues provided by him, the police arrested Hussain Basha, 65, a resident of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. As many as 156 notes of Rs 500 denomination, six bundles of plain paper cut to the size of Rs 500 denomination, and other materials such as inkpads and black papers were seized from the duo. The police said the notes were being circulated among gullible shopkeepers. Based on reliable information, the police arrested Srinivas on Thursday and seized around 50 fake notes of Rs 500 denomination from him. During interrogation, he revealed that a person from Anantapur was the source of the fake notes. The police laid a trap for Hussain by making Srinivas call him on the phone. Cops in plain clothes then travelled to Bagepalli along with Srinivas and as soon as they spotted Hussain, they arrested him. A couple of his accomplices fled the spot. A case has been registered and a manhunt launched to nab Krishnappa, Manju, Keshav and Anji who are absconding.   Deccan Herald
