2 accidents in Bhatkal on the eve of Eid, 1 youth killed, 2 injured

08 Aug 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: In two separate road accidents in Bhatkal, one at Moosa Nagar Bhatkal and another at Shiral Check Post (NH-66) on the eve of Eid, one youth was killed and two youths were injured. First incident occurred near Shirali check post as a result of a collision between a bike and a truck. As per sources, a youth riding on a bike was heading towards Bhatkal from Manki to shop for Eid when a speeding truck rammed into him. As a consequence, the youth riding on the bike who has been identified as Shoukat Shaikh (25) got injured. He was provided crucial first-aid treatment at Welfare Hospital Bhatkal and then sent to Kundapur for further treatment. Another accident occurred at Moosa Nagar Cross, when a speeding bike rammed into a tipper stationed on the road. As a consequence, the youth's head hit the tipper and he got severely injured. He was being rushed to the hospital, but he died on the way. He has been identified as Abdur Raheem s/o Husain Kodi (20). Another youth, identified as Saddam Kodi, who was riding with him got injured in this accident. Immediately after the accident, a large crowd gathered near Welfare Hospital Bhatkal. This case has been registered at Bhatkal Town Police Station.
