18-year-old PU student dies by suicide in Bhatkal

Bhatkal: An 18-year-old student who was scheduled to appear for the II PUC examination died by suicide in Honnegadde under Heble gram panchayat limits of Bhatkal taluk on Friday, March 6.

The deceased has been identified as Kaushik Subraya Naik.

The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. It is not clear whether examination pressure or any other issues led to the student taking the extreme step.

A complaint has been lodged at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station by the student’s father, Subraya Naik.
