18-year-old girl electrocuted near Ali Miya Academy

25 Sep 2013 / Rizwan Gangavaly / Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: An 18-year-old girl, identified as Nazima d/o Abdul Jabbar (Kabutar Mamu), was electrocuted in Jamiabad Road near Maulana Abul Hasan Islamic Academy. As per sources, the victim was trying to cross the compound wall, when she slipped and fell on a live power cable lying in the water assembled near the compound. The intensity of the shock was such that she was killed immediately on the spot. Alleging sloppiness on the HESCOM's part, the locals said these wires are lying since 2-3 days but HESCOM hasn't bothered to put them in proper place. The corpse was sent to Bhatkal Government Hospital for autopsy. Bhatkal Circle Inspector Mr. Beliyappa and PSI Naveen Jogi reached the spot and carried out the investigation.
