17 candidates file nomination for zilla panchayat elections, 52 for taluka panchayat

Feb 03, 2016 | Correspondent | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: 17 candidates have filed nominations for zilla panchayat elections in Bhatkal while 52 have filed nominations for taluka panchayat, elections for which will be held on February 13, 2016. The last date to file nominations ended on Monday, 1st February 2016. The State Election Commission on Monday set the ball rolling for zilla and taluk panchayats (ZP/TP) elections by announcing a two-phase polling on February 13 and February 20. Counting of votes to will be taken up on February 23. The poll code of conduct comes into effect immediately. - ARF
