BANGALORE: A 16-year-old is on the run after stabbing his father's lover ather housein Metro Layout in Gangondanahalli, north Bangalore, on Tuesday night. The teenager was upset over marital problems between his parents because of his father's illicit relationship with another woman.
On Tuesday night, 40-year-old Rafiq (name changed ) and his wife got into another heated argument in their Gangondanahalli residence. This was one of the many fights the 16-year-old had witnessed in his house over his father's illicit relationship with 25-year-old Chand Banu (name changed ). But this time he lost his cool and rushed to Chand's house carrying a kitchen knife. Around 10.30pm, he stabbed the woman multiple times outside her house before fleeing from the spot, police said.
According to police, both families had been neighbours for a long time and were close to each other. Soon the friendship between Chand and Rafiq grew into an affair. About eight months ago, Chand's family moved to a new house in Metro Layout, yet the two continued their relationship. When Rafiq's wife came to know about this, she was furious and the couple often quarrelled over the issue.
However Chand's husband told reporters that it was family dispute which was the reason behind the attack and not illicit relationship as claimed by the police. "Iwas not athome when the attack took place and by the time I got back, she was hospitalized. We have had problems with Rafiq's family for a while now and this attack was because of that," he said.
