1,500 soldiers arrive in poll-bound Karnataka

Bengaluru: Nearly 1,500 soldiers from North India arrived in the city in the first phase on Friday to assist local police in the security arrangements during the upcoming Assembly elections in the state. Deputy Commissioner of Police Abdul Ahad welcomed the soldiers who arrived in a special train to White Field Railway Station. All the facilities were provided to the soldiers. Later, they were sent to different districts in more than 60 vehicles. In the backdrop of the election, the security forces have already started patrolling in each district. They take supplement actions to avoid any untoward incidents and increase the voting percentage. “10 platoons of Border Security Force (BSF), 3 platoons of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), 1,500 soldiers have come from North India. Basic facilities and vehicle facility has been provided to them. Wherever they go, the police of the respective districts will provide required facilities,” said DCP Abdul Ahad. Source: News Karnataka
