1288 post-matric scholarship applications filed from Bhatkal

Bhatkal 6 December 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Bhatkal Minority Department's office on Thursday informed Bhatkallys.com that about 1288 applications have been filed from Bhatkal for post-matric scholarship program provided by the Minority Welfare Department, Directorate of Minority affiliated to Government of Karnataka for the students of classes/courses above SSLC. Along with 1288 regular applications, 284 applications have been received on Merit-cum basis while five other applications have been received in Nursing course. Initially the last date for the submission of applications was set to be on September 30, 2018 which was further extended twice till October 30 and November 30 respectively. Speaking to Bhatkallys.com an official from the Bhatkal's minority office Mohammed Ansar added that the applications have been sent to the District Minority office where it will scrutinized and the eligibility will be checked before forwarding it to the state office for final approval. "The whole process will take about another six months before the amount is dispensed to the candidates, we have sent it to district office, where it will be scrutinized and sent for final approval to state office, in between if there are any applications which are not abiding by the eligibility criteria will be sent back for corrections". "We have tried our best to get and send maximum number of applications from our Taluka so that students can stand benefited by the scholarship program" Ansar added. The minority department in Bhatkal has been proactive in about last six months since Shamsuddin Shaikh has taken over the post of Taluka Minority officer and has since created more awareness among people of Bhatkal regarding various scholarships, programs and incentives for the minorities by the government of Karnataka.
