As many as eight candidates have secured a 100 percentile in the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2013 - for seats in the 13 Indian Institutes of Management.
All the candidates who achieved this feat are male and from an engineering background. Two of the candidates have a masters degrees. While three of the candidates are from Mumbai, one each is from the cities of Hyderabad, Secunderabad, Samalkot and Vijayawada.
In the next highest category of 99.9 percentile, there are 10 candidates who achieved this feat. Only one of them is a female.
Three of the toppers come from a working background in the fields of banking, information technology and automobiles.
Owing to the scam of inflated scores that rocked CAT 2012, the authorities of the test decided not to partner with a private entity this time. Instead, they took the help of the National Informatics Centre.
