1 killed, two injured in car-auto collision on NH-66

June 11, 2015 | Rizwan Gangavaly | Bhatkallys News Bhatkal: 1 teenager has been killed and 2 persons have been injured when a Maruti Omni car rammed into auto-rickshaw near Shifa Cross on Bhatkal National Highway NH-66 Thursday night, a source informed. As per sources, the driver of the car, identified as Samraj, was driving under the influence of alcohol because of which he lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the auto-rickshaw with great speed causing the auto-rickshaw to overturn. As a consequence, the auto-driver and two female passengers suffered injuries out of which one female passenger suffered fatal injuries to her head. She later succumbed to her injuries in hospital. The deceased, identified as Mubina Abubakar (19), a resident of Tenginagundi in Bhatkal was scheduled to tie the knot on June 14th but destiny had something else written for her. A case has been registered at Bhatkal Police Station. - ARF
