Uttara Kannada: Excise department destroys alcohol worth Rs. 22 lakh

Karwar 31 July 2019: The excise officials on Monday destroyed alcohol worth Rs.22 lakh by spilling it into the ground here at Excise Deputy Commissioner's office campus in Karwar.
The alcohol was seized in 109 cases since Lok Sabha election. 8654.44 liters of alcohol worth Rs.22,50,866 was seized which was destroyed on Tuesday.
After getting the lab reports of the seized alcohol, as most of them are not fit for human consumption, the excise officials destroyed the liquor.
Deputy Commissioner LA Manjunath, Suvarna Naik, Shridhar Madival and other excise officials were present during the drive.
