MERCARA - Sandalkad Estates Madikere, which spans 225 acres of coffee plantation, spices and orange orchards, has come up with an exclusive coffee outlet, Big Cup Cafe.
Owned by Navayath community's Bota (Siddiqua) family, the Big Cup is located at the entrance of the Woodstock Villas on Mysore Road, 3kms from the Madikere town.
According to Nizamuddin Siddiqua, "The Big Cup is our own creation. It offers distinct coffee blends prepared by special brewing techniques in the presence of customer. We use our own harvested fresh coffee. Besides the coffee a range of other beverages like juices and mocktails, snacks, etc are on offer. The Big Cup is a cozy, intimate coffee place that stimulates creative intellectual conversations.
The Bota family of Bahauddin Siddiqua has been into coffee and spices plantation in Coorg for more than 170 years and the business continues to flourish with all zeal. They have now forayed into tourism and hospitality sector. 'The Big Cup' is yet another feather in its cap of multiple business ventures. The Big Cup is the brain child of Shamvil Nizam Siddiqua who attained special training in coffee brewing techniques from Italy.
Besides the main plantations at Sandalkad Estate, the family has several more plantations spread across Coorg.
