PU Preparatory exams postponed as Uttara Kannada DC orders educational institution to remain closed on January 8

Bhatkal 7 January 2019: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Considering the nation-wide Bandh that will be observed by various associations, unions including KSRTC and bank employees, Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner, SS Nakul, has ordered the educational institutions of the district to remain closed on January 8. The strike however will be a two days affair, between January 8 and 9. As the strike has been called out, the Preparatory exams of 2nd PUC that was scheduled for January 8, has now been postponed. Yusuf Kola, Principal Anjuman PU college confirmed while speaking to Bhatkallys.com Talking to Bhatkallys.com over the phone, Bhatkal BEO MR Munji confirmed the holiday and said “ All the private and government school and colleges shall remain closed according to the orders from the deputy commissioner”. However, several schools in Bhatkal have opted to conduct regular classes and have refrained from suspending the classes for the students. Normal life is likely to be affected in several places as the bank employees union, and KSRTC  department is supporting the strike on January 8 and 9.
