Chary was allegedly suffering from symptoms of gastroenteritis, when his wife Sree Vani, 40, brought him to the hospital. The alleged incident took place at a government hospital in Guntakal, Anantapuramu district, in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It was not immediately known when the incident took place; the video’s authenticity cannot be immediately verified. Officials, however, vowed to launch a probe into the alleged apathy of hospital staff as the video went viral. Local media, including NDTV and the Times of India, reported that the woman was left with no choice but to drag her husband up a ramp in Guntakal after waiting for more than an hour for the staff or doctors to provide stretcher or wheel-chair to the husband.
