Legendary Urdu poet Dr. Hussain Fitrat Bhatkalli passes away at 84

Bhatkal 19 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Legendary Urdu poet Dr. Fitrat Hussain Bhatkalli, passed away after prolonged illness, at his residence in the early hours of Wednesday, September 19. He was 84.
Dr. Fitrat Hussain had earned a reputation for himself in South India, despite living thousands of miles away from conventional Urdu speaking cities like Delhi, Lucknow and others which can be justified by the fact that people fondly called him ‘Junoobi Hind ka Iqbal’ (Dr. Allama Iqbal of South India) comparing him to the legendary Islamic poet of Urdu Allama Iqbal. And was also credited for leading the movement generalizing the language in the coastal town which is now recognized across the country for its pure Urdu speaking public including the youngsters.
Dr. Fitrat served the Urdu literature for over seven decades while using his poetry skills to also contribute to Islam and Muslim community by constantly writing Islamic Poetry and on issues pertaining to Muslim community.
Dr. Fitrat has penned several books of poetry and literature of Urdu, and has been credited for grooming several young poets in the region under his supervision.
His death came as a shock to many as several of his close aides and students expressed their feelings on local social media groups which has been flooded with the condolence messages.
Bhatkallys Media Society presents its condolence to the family and friends of Dr. Fitrat Hussain and prays to Almighty Allah to accept his services to the community and Muslim ummah and to grant his with highest ranks in Jannah.
