Government committed to take all responsibilities of any mishap caused by MR Vaccination, say Dr. Saleem Ilkal to Bhatkallys.com

Bhatkal 26 February 2017: In an exclusive interview with Bhatkallys.com Dr. Saleem Ilkal of Taluka Hospital Haliyal, who is now assigned for MR vaccination campaign to Bhatkal by District Health Officer (DHO), claimed that Government is prepared to take on any untoward incident caused by injecting MR vaccination to children.
He further informed that Karnataka was one of the five states which were selected for MR vaccination campaign by the Government of India in an attempt to eradicate Measles and Rubella from the country by 2020, he also claimed the campaign has received good response throughout the state, but at few places people have protested against it due to some misconception and confusions regarding the vaccinations caused by unauthentic viral and forwarded messages on social media.
He also said that Rubella is found mostly in age group of 1-15 years hence the Government came up with an decision to set their camps in schools and Anganvadi kendras.
He rubbished all the reports of vaccination causing any side effects to the health or future of the kids, and claimed that "Only Mild fevers and Headache can be expected and can also result in omitting of children which are negligible for a day or two, and no major harm can be caused due to the vaccinations".
He also spoke about the statistics and claimed till date in Karnataka more than One crore twenty eight lakhs children have been injected with this vaccination, and claimed there was no reports of any major incident happening due to vaccinations, while rubbishing reports of social media about deaths of several kids across the state. He also reported that more than twenty seven thousand student have been immunized with the injection without any untoward incident reported.
He further cleared that, if an pupil is 'Completely' allergic to this vaccination then a few problems may arise, for which the Government is ready to tackle it. He however, added that such cases are as rare as one in one million case, "And not availing the vaccination after getting to know about that one case will not be an good decision". he added
He further admitted that several right wings have made the attempt of spreading the rumors so that the Muslim community may not avail this service of the Government and MR may not be eradicated from the community.
He also answered and cleared several doubts which are doing rounds on social media and the minds of people, and fully recommended people to get their children immunized with the vaccination.
