Ganesh Chaturthi festival kicks off in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 13 September 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Ganesh Chaturthi festival kicked off with zeal and enthusiasm across various parts of Bhatkal Taluka here on Thursday 13 September. People marched through the streets in their traditional wear, with Ganapati idols to their homes and at different pandals chanting religious slogans with the beats of drums and sprinkling colors to mark the occasion. At some part of the town people came out in large numbers for immersing the idols in the sea and at different lakes and pounds of the town. However, at some places the festival continue for next two or three days. Police department has beefed up the security arrangements in the wake of the festival. (Bhatkallys News Bureau/ Fristen Dias)
