Bhatkallys News Service/Rizwan Gangavali Bhatkal 08 May 2017: At a time when our state topped the cleanliness ranking in Swachh Bharath campaign initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, few parts of Bhatkal still struggle to overcome the wrath of stray laid garbage. The areas coming under Jali Panchayath have been notable as the garbage is all over in most of its places including the Main Jali road. azad-nagar-03 At the first look it shows the irresponsible attitude of the local residents towards the issue, but it also seem the administration so far has done nothing in this regard to improve the conditions of such spots. azad-nagar-05 Recently three new vehicles were launched by MLA Mankal Vaidya for Jali Panchayath for the service of garbage picking but upon investigation it turned out only one of the three vehicles are functioning on daily basis. Bhatkallys.com enquired the issue with Jali Panchayath president, who blamed shortage of driving staff for the two vehicles to remain out of service, he further assured of looking into the matter and starting the services of all the three vehicles shortly. azad-nagar-08 This is not the first time Bhatkallys Media Society has raised this issue but all the earlier attempts went in vain, as both administration and the local residents remain unturned as long as their compounds and premises are kept clean, it’s high time for the administration, local residents and sports clubs to take up the issue and do the needful to keep their area and surroundings clean. azad-nagar-07
