Bhatkal: 25 years of Taluka Working Journalists Association celebrated

Bhatkallys News Service/ Rizwan Gangavali Bhatkal 09 January 2017: The Taluka Working Journalists Association celebrated its silver jubilee today at Guru Sudhindra College campus Bhatkal with a brief inaugural program. Prominent Kannada poet and recipient of Padma Shri Award, KS Nisar Ahmed, was the chief guest at the inaugural program. patrakarta-sangha-13 Talking about the Journalism as a profession Nisar Ahmed said, Honesty and Truthfulness to the job is the most important aspect of Journalism. He also slammed modern day Media and News Channels and asserted, the Modern media is all about TRPs and everything except the problems of common man. patrakarta-sangha-01 MLA Mankal Vaidya, who presided over the inaugural event also addressed the audience and had a few words of praise for the members of Taluka Working Journalists association and said the kind of efforts the members are putting in to highlight the problems faced by the public, also makes it easier for the administration to take a note of it work it up. patrakarta-sangha-04 Senior editor of Suvarna News Channel, Vijaya Lakshmi was awarded ‘Karavali Ratna’ award on this occasion. patrakarta-sangha-11 The official website of the association was also launched at the event by Zila Panchayath President Jayshree Moger.
