Anjuman students win big at KUD weightlifting and power lifting competition

Dharwad 8 October 2018: (Bhatkallys News Bureau) Students of Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce college and PG Center (Anjuman Degree college) run by Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal performed exceptionally well at Karnataka University Dharwad (KUD) Intercollegiate Weightlifting and Power lifting competitions held at KUD Kridabhava here at Dharwad. The competitions were organised by Department of physical education sports and games between 5 and 6 October, 2018. Students of Anjuman bagged a total of ten prizes in two events combined and outclassed other participants. In weightlifting, Afnan Ekkeri s/o Saleem Ekkeri bagged first place in 55 kg category by lifting a total of 50 kg, Ikhrash Durga s/o Mubeen Durga secured third place in 73 kg category by lifting a total of 100 kg, while Fuvez Karimi s/o Riyaz Karimi (81 kg category) and Zuhair Barmawar s/o Hifzur Rahman Barmawar (89 kg category) lifted 70 and 150 kg respectively to secure 4th and 2nd place in the respective categories. Meanwhile in power lifting, Ruman Udyavar s/o Khalid Udyavar  bagged 2nd place in 59 kg category by lifting total of 325 kg, Afnan Ekkeri s/o Saleem Ekkeri secured 5th place in same category by lifting total of 210 kg. In power lifting 66 kg category, Tabrez Sheik s/o Abdul Majid Sheik secured fourth position by lifting total of 290 kg, Ikrash Durga s/o Mubeen Durga (74 kg category) and Fuvez Karimi s/o Riyaz Karimi (83 kg category) secured fourth position in their respective categories by lifting total of 265 and 270 kg respectively. Zuhair Barmawar s/o Hifzurrahman Barmawar lifted total of 350 kg in 93 kg category to bag the top position in his category.
