28 fishermen rescued by local fishermen from sinking mid-sea

Bhatkal 12 October 2019: Atleast 28 fishermen were rescued from a sinking boat by local fishermen who were carrying fishing activities nearby, here at Netrani Island Coast on Friday. According to the source the fishing boat "Mookambika" belonging to Madhukar Poojari of Gangoli of Kundapur started to sink in the sea as the lower part of the hull broke down causing the boat to sink. Hearing the call for help the nearby fishing boats rushed near the boat and rescued all the men in the sinking boat. The distressed boat was also towed to Bhatkal Harbor by the other fishing boats and thus evaded major loss.
