12 year old boy drowned, two other rescued in Bhatkal

Bhatkal 24 December 2016: One person died, while 2 others where rescued after the three while swimming fell prey to the oceanic waves and were reportedly drowning when the local fishermen noticed them. The local fishermen came to the rescue of the three boys, but they could only save two of them.
The victims were identified as Nagendra Naik, Punit Moger, and Ratan Iyer Naik, all of them were reportedly students of Govt. School's 8th grade.
According to the sources the three went for an swim on Saturday after a religious rituals ceremony and lunch at Punit's home. The search operation for Punit lasted more than 15 hours before his body was fished out on Sunday.
A case has been registered at Bhatkal Rural Police Station.
